Challenge
The retailer sells weighed goods across physical stores. Shopify had to become the single master system for products, barcodes and sales, including items sold by weight. The scales, the POS and the Xentral ERP each needed the same data, in their own format.
What we built
Middleware that generates barcodes for weighed and per-piece items and syncs products to Mettler Toledo scales. A Shopify POS extension that reads the scale’s barcode and adds the weighed item to the cart automatically. An admin panel for barcode rules with a full audit log. A nightly sync that sends sold weights per store and per SKU to Xentral as stock movements, without overwriting stock changed by online orders.
