Customise our theme or build a custom one?

Customise if the theme's structure fits and the changes are additions. Build a custom theme if most templates would have to be rewritten anyway, because then you pay for the old theme's code without using it. We tell you which after reviewing the theme.

Will our changes survive theme updates?

Yes, if they are built as sections, blocks and settings rather than edits in the theme's core files. That is how we build them, and we document what was changed so a later update can be applied safely.

Can our team edit the new sections?

Yes. Sections are built for the Shopify theme editor: your team adds, reorders and fills them without code. Where content repeats across pages, we use metafields and metaobjects so it is edited once.

Can you make our store faster?

Usually. Most slow stores are slow because of app scripts, large images and code left behind by removed apps. We measure first, fix the biggest causes and measure again, so you see what changed.

Do you work with any theme?

With any Online Store 2.0 theme, free or paid. Older vintage themes can be customised too, but moving to an Online Store 2.0 theme is often the better investment, and we will say so.

How long does it take?

A single section or feature takes days; a set of templates or a custom theme takes weeks. We scope it after reviewing the theme, before quoting.
