Questions
we get asked
Do you design and build, or design only?
Both, and the same team does both. Your design goes to the developers who built the last one, so nothing is lost between the file and the store. We do take design-only work, and even then the design is made to be built: real components, real states, and no decisions that fall apart in code.
Can you work with our existing Shopify theme?
Yes. Most of our design work starts from a theme that already exists rather than a blank file. We audit what the theme can carry, design inside those limits where that is sensible, and tell you which changes need theme development rather than a design adjustment.
What do we get at the end?
Figma files with the components and states, a design system you can reuse, clickable prototypes for the flows that matter, and specifications the developers build from. If we are building it, you also get the store. If someone else is, the handoff is written for them rather than for us.
Do you design for products people configure or compare?
That is most of what we do. Configurators, variant-heavy catalogues, B2B ordering and multi-step selection all need design decisions that a single product page template cannot carry. We build these too, so the design accounts for what is actually possible on Shopify.
Do you build design systems or just pages?
Both, and the system is usually the cheaper choice. A set of components and rules your team can reuse costs more up front than a handful of pages and stops the store drifting apart every time someone adds a section. For a growing catalogue it pays back quickly.
Can you design for German or other EU markets?
Yes. We run a multi-language site ourselves and build multi-market Shopify setups, so the design accounts for what changes between languages: German text runs longer than English and breaks layouts that were only ever tested in one language. Copy in German is written by a native speaker, not translated by us.
How long does a Shopify store design take?
A storefront design is usually a 3 to 8 week engagement, depending on how many page types you need and how many review rounds you want. We scope it before starting so the timeline is agreed rather than discovered.
What does Shopify store design cost?
It depends on the number of page types and whether we are building it as well as designing it. We scope every project before quoting, and we will tell you if what you need is smaller than the work we take on.
